Articled Payment Methods

Money moves once, after the words and the total are agreed in writing. This page covers which methods are supported, how the payment link reaches you, and what we will never ask for.

Which Articled Payment Methods Are Available?

Regarding payment methods, we say the same things as everybody else: major debit and credit cards, bank transfer for large or multiple payments, and the digital wallets your card issuer supports through a hosted checkout. We list service categories instead of processors, since the payment service provider that powers the payment link can vary and an outdated name would be less useful than no name at all.

Please confirm with us before approving the quote. Our response will detail what is live on your order, including what’s available in your country. It will also detail if the method you require is available. This would be the time to inform us if there is a missing method. This would be more efficient then asking after a declined transaction. The quote will remain active and nothing will be charged until clarification is given for the request.

A few exceptions fall entirely outside the model. There are no credit tops up, no subscription plans, no automatic renewals, and no store credit since each quote and order are separate. Organizations who require invoicing terms (payment post approval) are advised to communicate this to me before the quote is finalized.

  • Major debit and credit cards, entered on the provider’s own page.
  • Digital wallets, where your card issuer and the provider both support them.
  • Bank transfer, usually reserved for larger or staged invoices.
  • Invoice terms for organizations, by prior arrangement.
  • Confirm the live list with us before you approve any quote.

How Articled Payment Methods Work at Checkout

The order form simply asks for a brief, the word count, a deadline, and an email address as the final step before the user begins to engage with the site. Payment is collected the traditional way after the price has been determined. That step requires our staff to perform a read of your desired instructions and an understanding of the subject. A guess on our part at this field would not suffice.

The quote comes back by email with calculations shown. Writing at $10 per 100 words and the 1% fee, the total is shown. For a 1,500 word article, the cost would be $150 and $1.50, for a total of $151.50. Of that, the writer would get $150, and 75 cents would go to tree planting. Once approved, a payment link is sent.

This link guides you to the provider’s page to pay which we then confirm payment for and attach an order reference to. Writing begins after that. For steps or phases in the process of a book for example, each phase or step will have a corresponding payment instead of a payment for the whole phase or step of work that spans unseen writing over a period of months.

  1. Brief and word count arrive through the order form.
  2. A person reads it and writes a quote by email.
  3. You approve the total, or ask for the scope to change.
  4. A one-time link opens the provider’s hosted payment page.
  5. Payment clears, a writer starts, the delivery date is set.

Security and Articled Payment Methods

Payment provider’s pages require card numbers to be entered directly. Payment information never travels through our site or through email. That is not a courtesy. It is the reason the payment flow is designed that way. Where we do store information is an order reference and confirmation that a payment has been processed. That information is what is required for a refund or a query and nothing else.

Since it is e-mailed, it is helpful to understand the characteristics of a valid quote in order to identify this one. It comes from a particular address, which is articled.org, and it has both the word count and total you discussed, and it links to a payment processing site rather than telling you to pay to a personal account. Anything that is different from the pattern should warrant a question.

No emails, chats, or phone calls from us will ask for your card number, security code, or password. We will never call you to pay a new account quickly or to pay before you receive a quote. We will never send you a message requesting you do any of these things. If you receive a message claiming to be from us, that asks you to do any of these things, contact us from the website before you do anything else.

  • Card numbers or security codes requested by email, chat or phone.
  • Payment to a personal account, or an account changed at short notice.
  • A password request, when there are no accounts here to log into.
  • Pressure to pay before a written quote exists.
  • A payment page whose amount does not match your quote.

Check the amount first

Check the figure on the payment page with the total in the quote you wrote. If the two don’t match, stop and ask. Better safe than sorry with a slow question to avoid the hassle of unraveling a wrong payment.

A human writer handles every part of this. Ask us on the contact page and a person will answer the same working day.

It is one payment with the arithmetic shown. A 2,000 word order is $200 of writing plus a $2 fee, so $202 in total. The writer gets $200 and one dollar goes to tree planting. There is no second charge for the fee or anything else that appears later.

In general, yes. The payment is cleared, an assignment is made, and the delivery date begins. Long-standing commissions, like books, operate in a different manner. Your payment is premised on a series of milestones with corresponding quotes, and thus you do not fund a significant period of work without sight.

There is no countdown on your quote, but unpaid quotes do not reserve a writer’s time. If timing is important to you, please pay in a timely manner or inform us of your deadline so we can let you know if it is feasible.

The refund and revisions policies set out the position in plain language. Two revision rounds are included and stay open for 14 days. If something is genuinely wrong rather than a change of mind, say so and a person will deal with it instead of a ticket queue.

Most of the world (but not every corner of it). Tell us if your card or bank is located where transactions often fail. This way, we will take a look before you approve a quote instead of after we reject it.

Here’s the quick version. Money moves when you have confirmed the writing. If anything about that process looks different in a message you get, consider that a problem and contact through the contact page.
