There’s a balance to things, and that’s something we don’t account for. If one of you walks in with four paragraphs and the other two sentences, it’s uneven. We typically write for both sides so the pair balances.
It’s what people talk about the most. Everyone knows what a promise is versus what a sentiment is. For example, an AI-generated vow would say to always support and always understand, therefore, committing you to nothing. Something real would say, for example, that you understand you’re not the best at this certain thing, but you’re willing to keep working on improving it.

Therefore, we ask for both. When one person holds on to both, one writer finishes with an identical last promise or a diagram that appears to repeat, before the ceremony as opposed to during. If one of you is ordering, send your partner’s draft if you have seen it.
We plan around that. The hardest line is never the first, and line lengths are kept short with periodic switches to an even shorter line available. A lot of people give the card to the officiant, who reads a line back if their voice gives out.
