Long-form fiction is partly a memory problem. After a few chapters, the left-handedness of the sibling and the time the funds depleted, and the fact that the reader had been promised an explanation has to be remembered. None of this is mental activity. It is bookkeeping and a cumulative decision.
One author writes the entire work. Pieces of the book are delivered separately within an agreed-upon time frame. Reading and guiding can take place during the interim of the next writing.
Once a premise is proposed, the first draft is tested and revised to answer the question, “what happens next?” A spine is made by detailing who the agents of change are, how they create change, and how the reader is wrong. Then comes the hard-of-the-hard tests of whether the story is long enough to be called a book.
The middle is worked out before the first words of the first chapter are written.
Well-defined wants of each character are needed to generate friction.
The first chapter’s promises are to be fulfilled to the reader.
Where AI falls down on fiction
Radically different novels are generated with zero coherence. Incoherent subplots open and are abandoned mid-progress., and the prose settles into a rhythm with each paragraph being the same length. Readers often don’t report issues, but they tend to stop reading around chapter three.
Our Creative Process for No-AI Fiction
Prose drafts do not exist before a chapter synopsis and outline are created and approved. Manuscripts are submitted in defined time increments. A continuity sheet documenting recurring names, ages, dates, and additional physical traits is provided. Changes, or rewrites, in one chapter are reflected upon in subsequent chapters.
How a fiction gets written here
Agree premise, point of view, tense and how the ending should feel.
Agree on the chapter outline before the first draft.
Chapters are delivered in batches, within the agreed time frame.
Continuity sheets are updated in real time and delivered with the manuscript.
Reviewing and Polishing No-AI Fiction
A chapter undergoes a structural read before sentence-level edits. An editor assesses pacing and looks at the overall structure to identify scenes that serve the same purpose, and then edits for word choice.
Submission-ready or self-publishing-ready full manuscript.
Chapter breakdown and continuity sheets for continued use.
Notes on structure over line edits.
Plagiarism and detector reports are included with every batch.
Transfer of copyright to you, no credit requested.

One rate, whatever the format: $10 per 100 words. You are paying for the writer’s time and judgement, so the price scales with the words rather than with a package tier.

Indeed. It requires a thorough reading of the existing material and a discussion on the expected trajectory of the piece. The writer will be selective in how they match your voice with their own pages and will highlight junctures of contradiction present in your existing chapters.

Kept the ending i was scared of
I asked for some advice with a plot that I have been tweaking for years. The suggestion was to fix the mess in the middle and to just leave the ending the way it is. I guess they were right and I wouldn’t have arrived at that conclusion on my own.

Came in long, otherwise excellent
At a natural pace, the speech was about ninety seconds over the twelve minute mark. Editing it was simple because your structure was clear, but I shouldn’t have to. Our director called the content of your speech the best written thing that she has ever delivered.

A poem for my father’s funeral
I couldn’t write it myself and had to ask for help two days before. It came the next morning looking plain and quiet with none of the words I was dreading. My aunt asked who wrote it and I said.
