Revisions Policy

Each order includes two rounds of revisions for fourteen days after the order is delivered, by the writer of the order.

What the Human-Written Content Revisions Covers

Each order has two rounds of free revisions. A round is not one comment. Each consolidated piece of feedback constitutes one round. In other words, please save your messages indicating the changes you would like to see and send them all to the writer, as the writer will go through all of the changes you have requested. Burning through the rounds you paid for would not be necessary if you were not splitting your feedback across five different messages.

Anything the brief asked for is our focus. That means we will address sections that are unclear and out of scope, tone that is not quite right, missing arguments, claims that are not adequately defended, and all other sources of frustration. We will fix anything that doesn’t match what you asked for. That is our job and we will do it at no extra cost to you.

A revision is not a new brief. Revisions happen with the same audience and in the same format as the original brief, even if they’re trying to make a different point or argument. This is usually quoted at a lower price since the research is all done anyway.

  • Structural changes: reordering, cutting, expanding a thin section
  • Tone and register adjustments to match your house voice
  • Factual corrections and stronger or softer claims
  • Adding a point the brief mentioned that the draft missed
  • Trimming or extending to hit a word count

How the Human-Written Content Revisions Works

Reply to your delivery email to request changes. That email was sent to the writer and editor who worked on your order, so you don’t have to go into detail and no ticket number is required.

Please be direct. Saying “The second section does not work” is helpful, as the writer can act on the directive. Saying “maybe consider revisiting this” leaves the writer with more to interpret and isn’t as helpful. We appreciate your candor, but you don’t have to guess the reason for us. It would be best if you could say why it doesn’t work. If not, you don’t have to.

Most revisions take less than one working day to come back. Major edits on extensive work may take more than one day, and we will tell you about the extended revision time when we receive your work rather than letting you know later.

One round means one message

Gather your feedback ahead of your transmission. It would be appreciated for you to wait until you have one complete set instead of sending two sets with partial feedback.

When the Human-Written Content Revisions Applies

The fourteen-day period begins once a final draft is sent to your email. We decided on fourteen days instead of seven days because most clients need to circulate a draft to their team for comments, and we didn’t want comments that were rushed. A week is a short time and comments from three reviewers will take time. ‘’’’More examples in Answers section — make sure to check it!’’’’

After two weeks, inclusions and rounds expire. Changes will still occur, but they would be priced differently as new work orders. It may help to preemptively notify us of your review cycle if it’s longer than two weeks when you place your order. We will mark a longer review cycle on your file which will still incur a payment when you place your order.

For factual errors, unmet brief requirements, or anything completely our fault, the fourteen-day window does not apply. We fix all common mistakes even after the fourteen-day period has lapsed.

Human-Written Content Revisions FAQs

For every length, for every order, for every client. There is no level in the system that buys more rounds, and there is no minimum spend to unlock more rounds. A 200-word description gets the same two rounds as a 20,000-word report.

Respond to your delivery email or use the contact page in the rare event that the order has been archived. Someone responds, usually the same work day, and will be someone who can actually see your order. This is unlike most first-line agents who read from a script.

Tell us. We work until we get it right. If we have failed to meet your expectations, we don’t keep score on the number of tries we take. If you’ve explained what you need beyond the original instructions, we will quote you the additional work. We will not suddenly stop working on your project.

By default, consider the author the case owner. This is to maintain context. Of course, if you need to, you can request someone else to take on this role.

No. The three-day delivery estimate is only for the first draft. Revisions typically take a working day and are much faster than the estimate for the first draft.

This policy is a win-win. Suppliers who charge: Add up a lot of minor changes. This encourages them to deliver a nearly correct response to a request as opposed to numerous changes. Then there are the suppliers who correct the request with no issues- they get the brief correct the first time.
