The writer receives 100% of the writing price. Articled’s share is the 1% fee added on top of the writing rate, and half of that fee — 0.5% — is donated to tree planting.

How Human-Written Content Pricing Works

Two numbers determine your cost. Writing costs $10 per 100 words, which is ten cents a word, and Articled adds one percent to that. A 1,000 word article is $100 of writing plus $1, so $101 is charged to your card. The writer will get $100. Fifty cents of our dollar will be used to fund tree planting.

Some writing services segment ordered papers into three tiers named basic, standard, and premium. These tiers are usually priced differently based on amount of research the writer is allowed to do. We cannot defend this explanation, so we charge one price that covers research, drafting, and a final colleague reading the draft for quality and preparation before sending the assignment to the client.

The obvious follow-up is why the tenth article costs the same as the first. It costs the same because the tenth article takes the same amount of someone’s time as the first article did. A volume discount would have to come out of the writer’s rate because our share of a $101 order is just a dollar, and half of that dollar is already committed to planting trees.

  • Writing: ten cents a word, quoted before our fee and paid to the writer who did the work ^bb Writing: an example of XYZ Company compensation plans for independent contractors.
  • Articled Fee: we charge a one percent addition and it is the only money we make
  • With our fee, half goes to tree planting at 0.5%.
  • Minimum order: 100 words, and word counts move in steps of 50 from there Minimum order: 100 words, word counts move in steps of 50 from there
  • Not charged: account fees, subscriptions, rush surcharges, or anything added at checkout

The worked example

One thousand word articles cost $100 in writing and a $1 processing fee, bringing the total to $101. A writer earns $100, half a cent goes to tree-planting, and the remaining fifty cents goes to Articled to run their business.

What Human-Written Content Pricing Includes

This package offers a great deal for your investment. It buys a researched draft; an editorial read, and provides delivery within three business days. Every draft is checked against a dozen detection and plagiarism platforms to ensure authenticity. Reports are attached to the draft and sent to the email for you to conveniently forward to anyone who wishes to see them.

Two rounds of revisions are available for fourteen days after delivery. A round includes sending notes. The writer will then go through and make changes. This is not a one to one sentence swap. On delivery, you will hold the copyright. This means you won’t have to attribute the work anywhere and there is no account to sign up for because the orders are placed as an online form and received as an email.

Some things that the price does not cover are the fact that we do not design pages, source photography, build wireframes, publish to your CMS, run your keyword research on retainer, or translate. We write. If a project requires any of the things that I just mentioned, you will have to work with someone else, but us for the writing.

  • A writer’s research often extends beyond what is included in a draft. They may gather relevant information for a draft before the first sentence.
  • An editorial read by a second person, who can send the draft back
  • Detector and plagiarism reports from twelve platforms, attached to the delivery email
  • Two revision rounds with the original writer, open for fourteen days
  • Full copyright transferred on delivery, with no attribution requirement
  • Delivery within three days of the brief being confirmed, by email

What the rate does not cover

No design, no images, no CMS publishing, no translation and no ongoing strategy retainer. The price includes researching, writing, and checking the words in order to ensure that a human being wrote them.

How to Choose the Right Human-Written Content Pricing Option

Since there is only one price, the real decision for you is not which package you will buy. You need to consider how many words the job actually requires and which path gets the order to us. Let’s start with the job: a landing page that has to make one argument well is rarely 2,000 words, and a technical explainer that skips background is rarely useful at 600.

Four options are available. One option contains a brief, single unit which must be completed through the order form and is priced in the calculator provided above. A batch of related items can be processed more efficiently as a bulk order. This is because a single writer and a single style sheet allow for a consistent voice throughout the set. Enterprise pricing is available to those buyers whose finance team requires a purchase order, and whose security team requires a questionnaire be completed. Finally, a custom quote is available for a scope that cannot be estimated with a defined set of words.

If you’re working with a fixed budget, start with the end in mind. Divide the budget by ten cents to get your word count. That’s the max length your paper can be. Ten words is a short sentence. Three sentences = 30 words. Three paragraphs = 90 words. So 7 paragraphs is over the budget. It may be more satisfying to you to write more, however, it is better to have three researched pieces than seven rushed and padded. We would much rather you send us three pieces than take your money for seven.

  • One piece, brief already clear: order through the form and pay at checkout
  • Several related pieces: use bulk orders so one writer holds the voice together
  • Purchase orders, invoicing or a vendor security review: enterprise pricing covers the paperwork
  • We would love to work on your project but scoping custom work is pricey. Feel free to shoot over an email requesting a quote and we will estimate custom work scoping.

Human-Written Content Pricing FAQs

Two free revisions are available for fourteen days after delivery. Each revision consists of a writer addressing notes made on the entire piece. We will order your document to be rewritten to our new brief if revising your original order is not an option.

No, this is more about arithmetic than policy. The organization takes one percent and a half of that percent goes to tree planting. This means a discount would come out of the writer’s rate for identical work. By ordering in batches you get one brief and schedule instead of two.

A flat charge punishes small orders. Someone who orders 300 words would pay a larger amount than someone who orders 30,000 words for the same administrative work. One percent scales with the order, stays visible on the invoice as its own line, and keeps the writer’s rate unaffected by order size.

No. A cybersecurity explainer and a recipe introduction both cost ten cents a word. The difference is having a writer who knows the subject. If we don’t have a subject expert, we decline the brief. We price the risk by charging you more on the invoice.

You will be charged based on the count you requested. Writers try to come as close as possible to the requested count and drafts that go over the requested count by a little bit do not result in an additional charge. If at any point you realize adding many more words is necessary, we agree on the new count before assigning any writing.

The reason there’s no rush order fee is that there’s nothing to rush. It’ll take an average of three days to complete research, draft, editorial review, and twelve verification checks. If you need an order rushed, let us know before you place your order and we will tell you honestly if it’s possible.

Yes. The calculator at this page breaks the word count into their respective costs for writing, our one percent, tree donations, and the total. The four numbers, the entire system, are visible after the calculation tool is done. The four numbers will appear again on the invoice you receive after you place your order.

Most pricing pages exist to conceal how pricey their services are, but we have a different reason for our page. We explain why our services cost what they do because the actual cost is the real hourly rate for someone to complete your brief, and the money flows to you rather than a platform. If you think our pricing is too high, unfortunately we are not the most budget-friendly solution and never claimed to be.

Pricing by content type

The rate is identical — these pages just show typical lengths and costs for each kind of work.
