18/20 first time right
Two descriptions out of twenty used the same phrase and it is a phrase you notice appears next to each other in the navigation. Flagged it; it was fixed next week. The other eighteen were just fine.
Shopify product copy doesn’t just mean your product description. It includes metafields your theme is programmed to manage, the accordion tabs, variant labels, and the description featured on a collection card. Many of these fields are empty and require you to write one long description.
We just need to know what theme you’re using and which sections you have enabled. It will only take about five minutes for you to explain this to us. If you wait to tell us until after the launch, it will probably take us much longer to fix everything that you have enabled.
Variants or options present challenges for generic copy. A shopper who picks the 40 mm option needs the copy to change to reflect that option or at least acknowledge that the fit is different. When copy is written for the product versus the variant, you risk describing your best selling, highest margin option, in the language of the entry level option.
Given a product row, your model writes text only once because it doesn’t understand your theme has six text field slots. Thus, you end up pasting the same paragraph in three slots, leaving the slots empty in the rest of the theme. Hence, most Shopify pages are built with an empty accordion tab.
The writer uses product export data and your live theme to draft this text. Based on where we place the text in the theme, we know if we should use three short stacked blocks of text or a long-form single column. We build what you import in a long-form, single column structure.
Everything you get from us will be in a Shopify-shaped spreadsheet, keyed to your chosen product handle, with metafield columns that line up with your definitions. Both Matrixify and the native importer will import these as is. For markets which use translated shopping storefronts, we will provide your source language in a different worksheet, to allow your translation app to do its work cleanly.
One rate, whatever the format: $10 per 100 words. You are paying for the writer’s time and judgement, so the price scales with the words rather than with a package tier.
| Typical Shopify product copy | Words | Writing | Fee (1%) | You pay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One product page | 400 | $40 | $0.40 | $40.40 |
| Five products | 2,000 | $200 | $2 | $202 |
| Store launch set | 7,500 | $750 | $7.50 | $757.50 |
The writer receives 100% of the writing price. Our 1% fee is added on top of it, and 0.5% is donated to tree planting. Full pricing breakdown.
Yes. Tell us the volume and cadence and we keep the same writer on the account so the voice stays consistent. The rate does not change with volume.
Ask on the contact page and a person will answer, usually the same working day. For a live order, reply to your confirmation email and it reaches whoever is handling it.
To avoid logging into our system, we email clients import-ready files. Most clients appreciate this eliminating the need to provide admin access to a third party. Our writers can review the file annotations to give your team a walkthrough of the import mapping.
Send the theme name or demo link and we will contact the sections that have been published. While the construction or the layout is in progress, we add the description and the short card line first and will fill the other sections later.

We hoped for 2 days on 40 short descriptions but got 3 which is the max they promise, so we have to take the blame for that. The copy explains the difference between porcelain and ceramic without having to explain it to the staff 2 times. Sizing questions to support have significantly decreased.
Including the question regarding our return policy being more strict than most of our competitors. I would have just ignored this one. This was a huge help, and it answered the question and explained the rationale. As a result of this going live, we saw a significant drop in return disputes.
We do not ask you to take the no-AI promise on trust. Each draft is run through these platforms and the reports are attached to your delivery email.
Send the brief, get a human draft back within 3 days. No account, no subscription, no AI.
