A good review should clear why the reviewer liked/disliked the thing they reviewed. The best of those reviews will name the thing they disliked and indicate why that didn’t impact their review.
We write from use. This includes what was tested, how long the tests were conducted for, how the tests were conducted, and where reasonable people’s judgments may vary from the reviewer’s.
Reviews have become defensive. Readers arrive containing suspicions that the review may be a paid posting. They typically expect no genuine opinions, no insight, just poor attempts to paint a general overview. An AI-generated review checks all the boxes for a bad review. Therefore, the reviews generated by AI fail the same tests that the reviewed formats have to face.
A stated verdict, not a summary of features.
Criticism included where the reviewer found something wrong.
How long it was used, and under what conditions.
Where AI falls down on reviews
Without access to the product, a model examines the marketing copy. This is where they are always doomed to fail. Readers immediately recognize the issue caused by this approach; a list of benefits is identical to a list of features that the manufacturer described in the same order, with nothing in the marketing copy that only the user of the product would discover.
From Brief to Final Draft: No-AI Reviews
You indicate whether the subject is a commissioned piece or something you chose. That defines the disclosure and the tone, but not the honesty. The reviewer goes to a lot of trouble to keep notes when they go, and develops their conclusion before crafting their introduction.

How a review gets written here
Agree the scope, the disclosure, and who the reader is.
Spend measured time with the subject and take dated notes.
Write the verdict first, then the evidence supporting it.
Check every factual claim, then run detector and plagiarism tools.
Quality Standards for No-AI Reviews
Three things hold true for every review we file. We don’t praise what we didn’t experience. Anything that appears to be a conflict is explained in the review instead of in a footnote. And the verdict holds up if the writer is asked to justify it after the review.
A verdict stated plainly, near the top.
Disclosure of any commercial relationship inside the copy.
Specific criticism rather than a list of hedged positives.
Testing conditions described so readers can weigh them.
Corrections handled inside the revision window at no cost.
What people commission reviews for
Editorial review sections on a publication.
Comparison content that needs credible individual reviews.
Affiliate sites rebuilding after a quality update.
Books, tools and media covered for a niche audience.
What reviews cost
One rate, whatever the format: $10 per 100 words. You are paying for the writer’s time and judgement, so the price scales with the words rather than with a package tier.

Questions About Buying No-AI Reviews
What the piece is for, who reads it, roughly how long it should be, and anything it must include or avoid. Links to your existing material help. If you are unsure, send what you have and the writer will come back with questions.
Up to 3 days. The writer has to read around the subject before writing it, so we quote honestly rather than promising an hour. If your deadline is tighter, say so in the brief and we will tell you before you pay whether we can meet it.
We promise a genuine review of one star if you give one. If the reviewer’s honest sense is genuine praise, then you will get praise. What we won’t do is praise something which is not worthy or hide issues. A review which is perceived to be bought is of no value.
Yes to whatever the reviewer cannot otherwise access. A free trial, a loaner review unit/sample, a loan with a fixed borrowing period — all of those work. Without access to the piece, all we have is a preview based on other published works, which we clearly state.
Completely. Copyright transfers to you on delivery, with no attribution requirement and no licence back to us. Nothing written for you is resold, repurposed or republished.

Thorough, though it used every day
We received delivery around the end of day three. I based my weekly schedule around my day two expectations, which was an assumption, not their guarantee. The instructions are thorough, and they are right to be careful considering the different aspects of our process that might change from one area to the other.

Those questions are way better than mine
We provided a recording and a rough transcript. What came back left the subject’s hesitations in the most important places, and removed them otherwise. They wrote to say that it was the first time they had read an interview of themselves that sounded accurate.

Used the full three days
The quality I had no problems with. The timing was way off. I thought a 900 word how-to would show up in a day, and I had to use up the whole three days. My bad for not checking the delivery terms. There was one measurement that had to be fixed, and that one came back in a couple of hours.
